Lambert used Twitter last Monday to express her outrage at Brown's performances at the Grammy Awards on the third anniversary of his infamous fight with ex-girlfriend Rihanna.
How dang long did they give Nicki Minaj to do whatever that was? Strange. And Chris Brown twice? I don't get it. He beat on a girl...— Miranda Lambert (@Miranda_Lambert) February 13, 2012
Not cool that we act like that didn't happen. He needs to listen to Gunpowder and lead and be put back in his place. Not at the Grammys.— Miranda Lambert (@Miranda_Lambert) February 13, 2012
Now...Bruno Mars...yes please! That rocked and also Adele...duh! And Jennifer Hudson! That's real music.kinda made up for all the suck.— Miranda Lambert (@Miranda_Lambert) February 13, 2012
Defiant Brown, who picked up a Best R&B Album Grammy, turned on Lambert and others on Tuesday via Twitter when he wrote:
Lambert hit back by telling her followers she also has a Grammy, and she used her concert at the University of Massachusetts on Thursday night to take aim at Brown once again.
Before singing her track "Gunpowder and Lead," about a woman preparing to kill her abusive husband, she pulled out a poster with handwritten letters reading, "Take Notes Chris Brown."
She told the crowd, "Get a good picture now, put it on Twitter. I've been in a world of hurt with Chris Brown fans lately... but see, I just have to speak my mind because where I come from, beating up on a woman is never OK."
Chris Brown responded to Lambert's display on Twitter. He wrote:
Using my name to get publicity? I love it! Perform your heart out!— Chris Brown(@chrisbrown) February 18, 2012
